Andersen Windows

Andersen was founded in 1903 and since then has created a legacy in window and patio door manufacturing in the United States, and around the world. All Andersen products improve home insulation and have earned Energy Star ratings accordingly. They provide replacement and new construction windows in wood, composite, vinyl, aluminum, and fiberglass materials available for six product lines, three of which will be presented today.

Andersen's Wood 400 Series: Bay/Bow Windows

Wood has the best thermal performance when compared to all the other materials. Andersen clad every wood window with vinyl, aluminum, or fiberglass to protect it from air moisture and termite damage, giving the window a low-maintenance exterior which does not need to be painted down the line. Andersen's product lines that feature wood are the 400 Series, A-Series, E-Series, and 200 Series.

A bay or bow window is the most substantial investment you can make for a home because of the wide the range of view and extra living space it provides. A bay or bow window protrudes beyond the home's siding, drawing you nearer to the outside while providing you with more room inside to be used for a window-and-seat setting like a small indoor garden over the kitchen sink, a leisure seat, or a bookshelf for a study desk. Bay and bow windows are similar in shape but they differ in the number of windows they comprise of; bays can house three windows while bow windows can house four to five. Bay windows have a central (usually fixed) window with two others, called flankers, on either side of it. Bow windows use a series of four to five windows which are all typically operable. Either style can vary in terms of the angles that join the windows together, and the types of windows that are being added to the series.

Andersen offers casements and double hung options for bay windows, and casements only for bow windows. Apart from additional living space and an unobstructed view of the outside, these wonderful home additions from Andersen provide excellent insulation, air ventilation, ready access to natural light, and a drastic increase in home resale value.

Andersen's Composite 100 Series: Picture Windows

Exclusive to Andersen, the composite alternative used in their windows is twice as strong as vinyl (PVC), can withstand extreme temperatures, and won't rust, rot, or peel. It combines the best of both wood and vinyl to make a strong durable material with excellent heat retention qualities. Andersen's very own Fibrex material is available for the 100 Series, A-Series, and Anderson's Renewal (replacement windows) product line.

Andersen's 100 Series picture windows are beautiful, durable, and energy-efficient. The heat retention qualities of the window's internal wood are evident in reducing your home's energy bills while keeping you comfortable during warm and cool climates. Picture windows, in general, are meant to be inoperable. They are meant to give you security, abundant natural light, and an unobstructed view of beautiful scenery.

Secure and safe: You can rely on the protection from intruders these picture windows provide for your home. The outdoors don't have to be visually obstructed from the inside of high-storey rooms thanks to the strength of Andersen's Fibrex material.

Energy-efficient: The 100 Series picture windows conduct heat 700 times less than aluminum windows, have excellent Energy Star ratings in all 50 states, and can come in your choice of four different low-emissivity glass types for different insulation uses.

Private: As large as they can be, these picture windows have four patterned glass options to obscure vision from the outside without hindering light from passing through. These glass patterns include obscure, cascade, reed, and fern.

Attractive: The 100 Series picture windows have six exterior colors options, two interior color options (white and sandtone), and three between-the-glass grille patterns to choose from.

Andersen's Aluminum E-Series: Gliding Windows

Exclusive only to Andersen's E-Series, aluminum windows are easy to customize and can be painted with any color from Andersen's extensive catalog. The interior of the window is made of wood for high home insulation performance and reduced energy costs, making this affordable material a bargain for your home.

Gliding windows, in general, have very few moving parts, making them a low-maintenance home addition from the ground up. Gliding windows have one to two operable sashes that effortlessly and smoothly slide open without taking anything from your workspace. These gliding windows, in particular, are built to withstand impacts, hail scraping, and extreme weather.
The weatherstripping on these windows combined with the wood inside the aluminum clad helps to keep your home warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The insulation performance of these windows varies further when introducing different low-E glasses of different intensity. Just like the 100 Series, you have four low-E glass options from Andersen: the standard low-E glass, low-E glass with HeatLock technology, low-E SmartSun glass, and the low-E SmartSun glass with HeatLock technology.

Andersen offers unrivaled customizations for you to express your unique tastes and to match your windows with the rest of your home. Available are fifty exterior colors, ten interior wood species, eleven interior finishes, and custom colors. As for the hardware, the slimline finger-pulls and sash locks have five finish options to match your home decor: bronze, polished brass, gold, white, and black.
